Local Diving - Boynton Reef Sites - Black Condo

Black Condo is named for a dark windowed condominium landmark. It is the most consistently dramatic section of the Boynton Reef System.

To get the most out of this dive, explore East and West as you travel North along the main ledge. At times, the main ledge slopes gently to the sand with only a one or two foot high ledge where it meets the sand. At other times the drop-off is more than 10 feet with giant, room sized chunks of broken reef lying in the sand.

About midway through this dive there is a really neat section where the reef extends far out onto the sand with a heavily undercut, two foot high ledge. This is a great place to look for sleeping Nurse Sharks and Loggerhead Turtles.
