Note the absence of Barnacles on the shell. I don't know why, but some turtles have Barnacles and some don't. But What I do know is that turtles are aware of the Barnacles and that they don't like them. I know this because I have often seen turtles under a ledge rubbing their shell against the reef to remove the Barnacles.
